I think the dude in front of me this morning  was afraid of the fog.. I think he saw "the Fog" or "The Mist" one too many times and he was scared something was gonna jump out of the fog at him.. he was driving soooooo sloooooow.. jeesh. I mean come on! Drive!  The gas pedal is on the right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am an impatient driver when behind a slow person or a idiot driver.. and I detest driving on I-70  in Kansas City..  And does there appear to be some  pink tones in this picture???  ooo.. many thoughts on this fog.. The Fog.. what lies behind the mystical curtain? Is it a doorway into another realm? where fairies and gnomes wander? Or magical beasties? A ghostly realm where the dead walk again???  What strange and wonderous sites are on the other side?  Is there another side? Then I go see John. Then Charlie Horse comes along and when he's here he takes a lot of my time an dattention. When he leaves, Arth Ritis  shows up and stays the rest of the day. He doesn't like to stay in one spot very long, so he takes me from joint to joint. After such a busy day, I'm really tired and glad to go to bed with Ben Gay. I knew I would be on hwy 224.. which is a scenic byway that follows the Missouri River .. and was the original route into Lexington from Kansas City. When I hit my 10 minute mark there was this building to the left of me and the river to the right.. since I couldn't see the river too well over the dike... I chose this building.. and to my surprise it was in the 10 minute range.. and I already had a picture of it.. so... I'm gonna cheat a little.. I missed yesterday.. I don't know where it went.. I got up at 5.. went to work at 6:30 and the postmaster had me help carry some mail on the city routes.. forgetting the conversation she'd had with the postmaster of Buckner.. and when I got back from walking the mail.. found out I was to be in Buckner.. so I drove home, grabbed my route car and drove to Buckner.. cased and carried that mail.. now I was to have the kids in Odessa at 2:30 for Doc appointments and at 10 min to 2 I left Buckner . I had to get back to Lexington and to Odessa before 2:30. and it's a 20 mile drive back to Lexington from Buckner and then another 20 mile to Odessa... which leads to thought number 2.. oh and I didnt get home til almost 5 pm.. long day.. there in lies why I missed it 2. I broke some serious land speed records yesterday.. I made it to Odessa at 2:30 3. thank god no cops were looking!!!!!!!!! It was in the Stewart Family plot that had been purchased back in 1850 or 1851. The coffin resembles a mummy and has a glass viewing window in the face. It was manufactured in Providence, R.I. by Almond D. Fisk from 1848-1854. The coffin at that time cost between $40 and $100 where a normal coffin cost $2 - $3. It was removed from the grave in one piece. It was sent to MU's department of anthropology where they will conduct tests to determine who is inside the coffin. march 12, 2007 No photos in this week's newspaper article on the 150 year old coffin they discovered here in Lexington's Machpelah Cemetary, but the coffin is now ready for testing. The Anthropology Department of the University of Missouri will be conducting the tests to determine who is in the coffin. I was wandering thru Machpelah Cemetary here in Lexington.. see photos ... and I wanted to take them in black and white.. just because the old headstones look neat in black and white.. although they are just as neat in colour.. my camera has a setting for black and white.. so I set it. And off I went in search of neat headstones. twice my camera flipped back to colour pictures and I had to manually change it to black and white  twice. I had the odd sensation I was being followed also , even heard footsteps at one point walking in the grass behind me! I turned around several times and snapped pictures but.. I did not seem to catch a ghost on film.. I was the ONLY person in the cemetary (well , alive person at any rate) this morning would have been a good time to wander thru with the camera again.. there was a heavy fog.. would have made for some awesome pictures! I get home, not looking at disc right away, and delete.. yes, I said , delete.. the card on the camera. So I went up Friday afternoon to go get it and Saturday morning went to start my route car to go to work.. guess what won't start. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! honestly.. can I get a freaking break?
