Avid collector of old barn & building shots I see... most enchanting aren't they? Like a step back in time. Great collection!

I know that I'm speaking from a different time in history, a different perspective, a different mindset, but I have to wonder what would make a family walk off and leave something as big as a barn or that big old house, which had to have been pretty nice in it's time. It's just a bit of a puzzle to me, one I've been trying to piece together for years.

Another thing that strikes me about these photos is that Missouri must house the largest variety of barn styles I've ever seen. But, of course that's because of it being a pioneering state and seeing people from all over the world and their different styles of architecture. That one stumped me for a while, too!

This is much like the house i was telling you about that we lived in that had ghosts, except the one we lived in had a wood frame and not brick. Same size, everything! i had to call my husband inside to see this picture.
Just between the two doors was probably a balcony huh? like we had.
our house had french doors top and bottom. same amount of windows up front, but our house had windows on the side. we also had ivy growing all over the house.
We had a front porch, with columns.
This is wild!!!
