The olde cannonball in the column trick..

This courthouse is the oldest in Missouri still in use. And it has a cannonball from the battle that took place here in the Civil War in 1861. The shot was fired from perhaps a half mile away from union trenches that were dug in at the Masonic Temple (out near where the present day hospital is).

Oh by the way... the South won at this particular battle....which only lasted 3 days. Them Yanks gave up!
