so it's deer season once again.. opening day round here is this saturday.. of course i have to work.. but i will be sitting in my stand on sunday freezing my bunns off! hopefully this year i actually see a deer! i went and sited in my rifle last sunday and of course it was on, i never fired it last year.. but i shot anyway.. and i had it seated wrong on my shoulder and am now sporting a bruise .. ah well.. so here's my tribute to deer hunters everywhere:

The Deer Hunt

1 am..alarm clock rings

2 am..hunting partner arrives

2:15 am..throw everything except kitchen sink in truck

3 am..leave for deep woods

3:30 am ..drive like hell to get to woods before sunrise

4 am..set up camp, forgot the damn tent

4:30 am ..head into woods

6:05am..see 3 deer

6:06am..take aim and sqeeze trigger

6:07am.."click"

6:08am..load gun while watching deer run off over hill

8 am..head back to camp

9am..still looking for camp

10 am..realize you don't know where camp is

noon...fire gun for help and eat wild berries

12:15pm...run out of berries, 3 deer come back

12:20 pm..funny feeling in stomach

12:30 pm ..realize you ate poisonous berries

12:45 pm..rescued!

12:55pm..rushed to hospitalto have stomach pumped

3 pm..arrive back at camp

3:30pm.. leave camp to kill deer

4pm..return to camp for bullets

4:01pm..load gun --leave camp again

5 pm.. empty gun on squirrel that's bugging you

6pm..arrive at camp--see deer grazing in camp

6:01pm..load gun

6:02pm..fire gun

6:03pm..one dead truck

6:05pm..hunting partner returns to camp dragging deer

6:06pm..strong desire to shoot hunting partner

6:07 pm..fall into fire

6:10pm change clothes--throw burned ones in fire

6:15pm..take pickup and leave partner and his deer in woods

6:25pm..pickup boils over--hole shot in radiator

6:26pm..start walking

6:30pm..stumble and fall--drop gun in mud

6:35pm..meet bear

6:36pm..take aim

6:37pm..fire gun, blows up, barrel plugged with mud

6:38pm..piss pants

6:39pm..climb tree

9 pm ..bear departs, wrap gun around tree

midnite..home at last!

Sunday.. watch football game on tv while slowly tearing apart hunting licence, place in envelope and mail back to game warden with instructions on where to put it..
