This is Cliff Palace. It is in Mesa Verde , in southern Colorado.

I am scared of heights, so the climb down to the ruins was kinda hairy for me.. and the climb back up on the ladder was even more so!

The cliff dwellings in the Mesa Verde area were home to the long gone Anazazi Peoples. They lived in the area long before the Spaniards came to South America and worked their way up into what is now North America.

They disappeared without a trace.. no one knows what happened, where they went or why. They left behind their homes and in some cases food and clothing items.

This is the biggest of the cliff dwellings in the area. There are several others. I only got to visit this one while I was there. I would like to return and see the other ones also.
